old technology renewed

Today Tom White is working on digitizing some old VHS stuff that many of our colleagues use each year. Having this stuff available to all in short form will be terrific. I'm planning to learn the technique tomorrow and get going on some old standbys such as "Making Sense of the Sixties", "Eyes on the Prize" and a few American Experience episodes on recent presidents. The new American history on video resource from the Mellon Library makes some of what we need accessible online, but "owning" the best clips will allow us to embed them more easily into our Bb syllabus. My challenge today is to sift through some more iTunes U stuff as well as video Podcasts from things like Bill Moyer's journal television show. I'll post more later to let everyone know how all this goes....
