More with Mathematica

I accomplished some good stuff today. I determined that using Mathematica for simple things like creating tables for data and graphs of that table is possible, but far less intuitive than using Word or Excel. The access to chemistry databases is robust, and will allow for creation of chemistry-structure-based questions for test and quizzes. I hope to have students in second year chemistry install Mathematica for use as a reference. Then, I found a J Chem Ed article with exercises in visualizing wave functions and orbitals, and as the exercise was quite old, I was able to replicate it in Mathematica 7 and incorporate several manipulation sliders. All in all, a good day!
